Background
Jessica Lee Minneci is a young adult fantasy author, living in Louisville, Kentucky. She earned
her MFA in Writing Popular Fiction and a BA in English, Creative Writing from Seton Hill
University. Jessica has had two short stories published, and two more will be featured in
anthologies later this year.
Author Bio
Jessica Lee Minneci spent most of her formative years reading past her bedtime, making up
voices for the
characters in her favorite books, and searching for magical wardrobes. As she got older, she
dreamed of writing books that spread joy to readers just
like her childhood authors did for her. Jessica holds an MFA
in Writing Popular Fiction and a BA in English, Creative Writing from Seton Hill University in
Greensburg, Pennsylvania. The MFA
program helped Jessica write her first novel, fulfilling her dream of becoming a young adult
fantasy author.
After graduation, she began dipping her toes into a different form of writing: short stories.
So far this year, Jessica has celebrated two anthology publications. “The Bloodstone Cure” was
featured in Dragon Flight by Dragon Soul Press, and her story “Keeping a Promise” is part
of Prom Perfect by Wild
Ink Publishing. Jessica’s first-ever romance meet-cute, “The Gingerbread Showdown,” will
appear in KissMet Quarterly’s The Greatest Holiday Romance Stories Ever Written, coming on
October 31. Readers will be able to enjoy Jessica’s fairytale-inspired fantasy story “The Queen
and the Soup” in Poisons & Potions by Dragon Soul Press, releasing on November 20. “Memory
Lane,” Jessica’s YA inspirational magical realism tale, has been accepted for the upcoming
publication Tread Lightly, Speak Gently by Wild Ink Publishing.
Jessica and her friend Demi Michelle Schwartz also compose short stories for anthologies
together
under the pen name Sadie Lielle. Their story “A Wood of Gold and Shadows” was published
in Dragon Flight by Dragon Soul Press and in A Sparkle of Woodland Magic by West Avenue
Publishing. A second tale, “A Slice of Fire and Apples,” was included in Seasons of Romantasy:
Autumn by Quill & Flame Publishing House. Their poem, “A Lily’s Verse,” will appear in Tread
Lightly, Speak Gently by Wild Ink Publishing, coming in 2026.
This year, Jessica plans to continue to submit to anthologies and begin plotting her next novel.
Jessica enjoys writing about adventure, friendship, and magical creatures pulled from her
imagination. Her books and short stories promise readers an escape from reality, unique magic
systems, and characters that jump off the page and into your heart. Jessica can be found at her
desk with a cup of green tea, hands poised on her laptop keyboard. When she is not writing,
Jessica delights in falling into fictional worlds, obsessing over her word count, swimming, long
walks, and spending time with her dog.
